Hapkido is a traditional Korean martial art which emphasizes kicking, striking, joint-locks and throws. Hapkido is a particularly effective martial art for self-defense, and is popular with ladies and smaller adults, as it emphasizes using an attacker’s energy against them.
Master William Sanders a 3rd degree black belt in Hapkido and a 6th degree black belt in Taekwondo, has been studying martial arts since 1988 and has been teaching since 2002. Master Sanders spent over ten years in Korea studying Taekwondo and Hapkido during his 21 year military career.He believes that the true purpose of traditional martial arts is to develop the individual, as well as the community. Some benefits of practicing HAPKIDO are improved strength, flexibility, focus, and balance, both mentally and physically. You’ll find yourself improving in all of these areas, and having a great time while doing it. Master Sanders holds instructor certifications from the World Taekwondo Federation and the United States Korean Martial Arts Federation, and was a recipient of the JidoKwan Exemplary Instructor Award in 2013.
